Welcome to the Week 10 DraftKings Tournament Guide! This Guaranteed Prize Pool overview covers the main slate on DraftKings and how to approach the week with roster building strategies, games to target, and cheap salary-saving dart throws that could reach their ceilings this week. Let’s get right into Week 10 and analyze how we should be approaching the main slate for tournaments this week.
Roster-building strategies
Be contrarian by paying up at wide receiver
The more I get a feel for this week, the more it feels like one where we see people pay up at the running back position. There are several stud workhorse backs in great matchups that are tough to fade — Todd Gurley against Seattle, Melvin Gordon at Oakland, Alvin Kamara at Cincinnati, and Kareem Hunt against Arizona. Instead of hampering your roster by rostering two and/or three of them, it could be a contrarian move to pair a top-shelf back with a mid-range one and instead use that salary to pay up at the wide receiver position.
Julio Jones got the touchdown monkey off his back last week and draws what could be a fantastic matchup against Cleveland if Denzel Ward (hip) sits this one out. The Browns have been decimated with injuries as of late, leaving Julio (21.8 FPPG) in another possible eruption spot at severely low ownership (9.62%).
Michael Thomas went off last week, compiling a final stat line of 12-211-1, and coming back to his early season form catching 80% of his targets. Thomas takes on a Cincinnati secondary that has allowed the fifth-most fantasy points against opposing wide receivers. Alpha wide receivers Antonio Brown (5-105-1), Mike Evans (6-179-1), and Jones (9-173-0) have all dismantled this secondary for big outings.
