- Reason for concern in Seattle: Linebacker Cody Barton had his role significantly reduced in Week 4 after being an IDP asset these past few weeks. It’s now going to be difficult to trust him in Week 5.
- Eyebrow-raising usage in Indianapolis: Zaire Franklin has quietly been playing ahead of Bobby Okereke the past few weeks. This could create a problem for Okereke when Shaquille Leonard is back in the lineup.
- Another wrinkle added to the Cardinals linebacker mess: Nick Vigil got hurt and Isaiah Simmons played mostly in the slot. IDP managers should expect more headaches out of Arizona.

WEEK 4 TAKEAWAYS
Some of the key players stood out as potential adds after Week 4 for leagues of all sizes:
Waiver Wire
- LB – Jaylon Smith, NYG – Smith jumped into a 50% snap share, which was second among the Giants linebackers. He could be worth a roster spot in deep leagues.
- LB – Joe Schobert, TEN – A great 2022 debut from Schobert could earn him more snaps as long as Zach Cunningham is out. Deep leagues should consider him a speculative add.
- EDGE – Baron Browning, DEN – Randy Gregory is going to miss time, opening up a larger opportunity for Browning to produce off the edge in Denver.
- EDGE – Kyle Van Noy, LAC – With Joey Bosa sidelined for a substantial amount of time, Van Noy is likely to get more looks as an edge defender.
- S – Damar Hamlin, BUF – With Micah Hyde on injured reserve (IR), Hamlin appears to be his clear replacement at safety in Buffalo. He was productive this week and had some decent usage to back it up.
- S – Sean Chandler, CAR – In case Jeremy Chinn misses any time with his injury, Chandler could work as a short-term replacement in deeper leagues.
- S – Kerby Joseph, DET – After listing Juju Hughes in here last week, the Lions swerved and started Joseph, making him the Tracy Walker replacement going forward.
- S – Rodney Thomas, IND – It’s unclear how long Julian Blackmon will be out but with Indianapolis playing on a short week, Thomas could be serviceable in Week 5 for those looking for an immediate replacement.
- S – Bryan Cook, KC – As a speculative add, Cook played 73% of Kansas City's defensive snaps as the team’s third safety, including 40% in the box, which could be useful in deep leagues if the Chiefs keep that up.
- S – Dane Belton, NYG – If Julian Love misses any time with a concussion, Belton should be added due to how he’ll likely be utilized in a similar role to Love.
- S – Tre Norwood, PIT – Terrell Edmunds left this game with a concussion. Norwood appears to be his replacement should Edmunds miss any time.
- CB – DaRon Bland, DAL – Cowboys’ nickel corner Jourdan Lewis suffered a groin injury during pre-game warmups, leading to Bland to replace him in a very busy role. CB-required leagues could take advantage of this if Lewis is going to miss time.
NOTE: With four weeks of data, certain team stats will now account for the entire season since we have a larger sample size to compare against. This will affect zone and man coverage rates, EPA% allowed, dime rate, and blitz rate.

- INJURY: Nick Vigil left this game early (hamstring) and did not return. Vigil’s injury doesn’t necessarily mean Isaiah Simmons will step back into a true linebacker role. It just makes this a situation to monitor next week.
- POINT OF INTEREST: Simmons played more this week, but 53% of his snaps came in the slot as the Cardinals still try and figure out how to use their former top-10 pick. He’ll have little to no fantasy value until IDP managers can see a solidified role.
