WINNER: EDGE Jaelan Phillips, Miami Dolphins
Anyone who has been following my work is well aware of how much I love Jaelan Phillips in this edge defender class. Phillips was the first edge defender drafted and landed in a prime spot to produce right away as a rookie.
Miami's only true starting edge defender is Emmanuel Ogbah. With Shaq Lawson and Kyle Van Noy leaving this offseason, there are significant snaps available. Phillips could easily find himself playing over 600 snaps, should he stay healthy. While health was a major concern for Phillips coming into the pre-draft process, his draft stock suggests that his medicals were clear. He should continue to produce, just as he did in his final college season.
