Know your scoring
Before diving into the pick-by-pick strategy, it’s important to familiarize yourself with the overall league and scoring settings, especially when it comes to superflex settings.
- As highlighted in the tables below, full PPR scoring allows for more balance between the skill position players and quarterbacks, although quarterbacks still hold an advantage at the top.
- As scoring moves away from full PPR, quarterbacks dominate the leaderboards in scoring even more. As more advantages are given to the skill positions, expect to see a more even distribution among the league’s top scorers.
- As league size increases, the quarterback position also becomes more valuable. There are only 32 starters in any given week, so it becomes all the more important to load up on the position early.

Round 1, Picks 10-12: If a top-10 QB is there, grab them
Depending on the start of the draft prior to your pick, there could be as many as five non-quarterbacks taken — or none at all. More than likely, at least a couple of drafters will have opted to grab a non-quarterback in the first round, which leaves a potential top-10 quarterback available still to kick things off. If you do start non-quarterback, then be sure to come back around in Round 2 to get one.
Top target: Justin Fields, Chicago Bears
Sleeper redraft SF ADP: 11.0
Fields’ ADP at the end of the first round is about as good as we can hope for here. If he’s available still, scoop him up since he holds overall QB1 upside.
- Fields was the only 2022 quarterback to average double-digit rush attempts per game (10.0) and, in doing so, posted three of the 13 best rushing performances by a quarterback of all time, including the top spot. All in 2022.
- Fields posted five top-five fantasy finishes from Weeks 7-17 last year and finished as the overall QB3 in that stretch, doing so despite passing for only 1,373 yards (23rd).
- Fields has the potential to develop as a passer with a true No. 1 wide receiver in D.J. Moore joining the team.
- Fields comes in ranked as my overall QB6, but with any progression as a passer, combined with his already elite rushing ability, he could turn into QB1 rather quickly.
Possible targets: Trevor Lawrence, Cooper Kupp
Round 2, Picks 13-15: Building the offense around our QB1
