  • An IDP star reborn in Vegas: Blake Martinez is set to reclaim his past fantasy glory as he fills in as the team’s new LB1 for the foreseeable future.
  • Regressing to the mean: Kamren Curl has been quiet over the first half of the season, but his elite usage should start to even things out on the stat sheet going forward.
  • A top corner against a low-volume pass attack: The Bears lead the league in rushing attempts per game, which could actually be a positive for Jeffrey Okudah.
Estimated Reading Time: 12 minutes

There have been plenty of key injuries and poor IDP performances that would be enough to cause most fantasy managers to fold and quit at this point in the season. But continuing to do the necessary research and remaining active is the key that will help push managers over the top down the stretch and get into the playoffs.

Blake Martinez’s (LB8) IDP stock was dwindling in 2022 after he was cut by the Giants and used as a rotational piece for most of the year. But one injury has reignited his value. With Divine Deablo on injured reserve, Martinez figures to be the top linebacker in Las Vegas, as he was once Deablo left the Week 9 game early. Martinez’s familiarity with defensive coordinator Patrick Graham’s scheme should help him keep that role.

For IDP purposes, Martinez has shown he can be one of the most consistent producers in a full-time role, no matter the defense. He finished inside the top three in total tackles four seasons in a row from 2017 to 2020, which was his last full season with the Giants before tearing his ACL in 2021. Martinez is in a great spot to be a significant producer for as long as Deablo is out.

Bobby Okereke (LB49) has been an excellent fantasy producer this season, sitting with 77 total tackles on the year (T-7th among LBs), but it appears that his time has reached the end with Shaquille Leonard (LB26) back in the lineup. Leonard out-snapped Okereke this past week with neither player in a full-time role. But Leonard’s snaps are expected to increase as the weeks go on, which means Okereke’s snaps will naturally decrease as Zaire Franklin (LB2) has established himself as an every-down player this season. Fantasy managers that have been relying on Okereke should now be looking elsewhere for starting options.
