We all know that Week 1 is a liar, so let’s go searching for some truth in Week 2. And while it’s often quoted that there are lies, damned lies and statistics, we tend to take a more open-minded approach and believe in some inescapable data-driven truths.
So long-winded intro out the way let’s get to the meat of this meal, and tuck into some of the best stats and grades from Week 2, and the entire season so far.

Arizona Cardinals
Trey McBride has only run 23 routes through two games, but he’s averaging a whopping 2.39 yards per route run, the highest of all tight ends who have run 10 routes or more.
Atlanta Falcons
No offensive rookie has a higher grade than running back Bijan Robinson. His 86.1 narrowly edges out Puka Nacua.
Baltimore Ravens
Rookie receiver Zay Flowers is one of four rookies to catch more than seven balls, and the only one of those not to have dropped a pass.
Buffalo Bills
Wide receiver Stefon Diggs is one of two players (along with Justin Jefferson) to catch 17 or more balls and not drop one of them.
Carolina Panthers
No linebacker has blitzed more than Frankie Luvu. He has rushed the passer 20 times, and he's thrived. His 91.9 pass-rushing grade is the highest of all linebackers.
Chicago Bears
After completing three-of-four passing attempts aimed 20 yards or more, Justin Fields had the highest deep passing grade this week at 94.8 (minimum three attempts). The problem was his work in the intermediate areas garnered a 38.4 grade, which was the second lowest.
Cincinnati Bengals
With five defensive stops in the run game, Germaine Pratt has the fifth-highest of all defenders.
Cleveland Browns
There is fierce competition in terms of scoring the highest pass-rushing grade, but right now, the honor this year belongs to Myles Garrett. His 91.9 score narrowly edges out T.J. Watt and Nick Bosa.
Dallas Cowboys
When Micah Parsons win, boy does he win quickly. However, he’s not actually “winning” at a higher rate than his own teammate DeMarcus Lawrence, who had the highest win percentage of all defensive players this week at an incredible 47.4% mark.
Denver Broncos
No quarterback had as much time to throw as Russell Wilson. He led the way with a 3.52-second average time to throw, sack or scramble and only 14.6% of his dropbacks saw him get rid of the ball in under 2.5 seconds (lowest of the week).
Detroit Lions
Through two weeks, Aidan Hutchinson has a league-leading 13 total pressures (three hits and 10 hurries).
Green Bay Packers
He has only rushed the passer 24 times this year, but Rashan Gary‘s 33.3% win rate is the highest among all edge defenders.
Houston Texans
Nico Collins led all receivers this week with six explosive plays (15 yards or more). He helped himself to this figure after forcing a joint high of four missed tackles.
Indianapolis Colts
A good day for the Colts offensive line. It had the best pass-blocking efficiency score of any offensive line after the fivesome allowed just one hit and one hurry on 35 pass blocks.
Jacksonville Jaguars
In a strange day for Trevor Lawrence, he only completed 51.2% of his passes but ended the week with the highest volume of big-time throws, totaling five, which was good for an 11.6% score.
Kansas City Chiefs
Did you notice Chris Jones was back? While he lines up inside and on the edge, this week, he spent more time as an interior lineman and wracked up the best win percentage of all his defensive interior peers at 40.7%.
Las Vegas Raiders
No tackle has pass blocked as much as Jermaine Eluemunor (54) without giving up a single sack, hit or hurry.
Los Angeles Chargers
It’s been a rough start for the Chargers results-wise, but they can console themself with the fact Justin Herbert has made the smallest percentage of turnover-worthy plays at just 1.1% after two weeks.
Los Angeles Rams
Rookies are supposed to take a bit of time to earn the trust of their quarterback, especially when you’re a fifth-rounder. Somebody should tell Puka Nacua that, as he had the highest threat percentage of any receiver to run more than 15 routes. He was targeted on 36.5% of the routes he ran!
Miami Dolphins
Mike Evans closed the gap this week, but Tyreek Hill still has the highest yards per route run with a 3.86 mark.
Minnesota Vikings
Rookie undrafted free agent Ivan Pace Jr. has made the most tackles 14 (with two assists) without missing one of all linebackers.
New England Patriots
Rookie cornerback Christian Gonzalez has the second-highest grade of all defenders in zone coverage with his 90.7 score.
New Orleans Saints
No quarterback has completed more deep passes (20 yards or more in the air) than Derek Carr. He is up at seven on the year, although it does help he has attempted two more than anyone else (15).
New York Giants
Daniel Jones has the joint highest grade of all quarterbacks on play-action passes. His 92.2 grade is matched only by Ryan Tannehill.
New York Jets
Along with Harrison Smith, Quinnen Williams had the most defensive stops in the run game this week with five — three of which counted as a loss or no gain (also week co-leading).
Philadelphia Eagles
If you saw Thursday Night Football, you saw D’Andre Swift run all over the Vikings. He didn’t just have the most yards on the ground (175), he had the most first downs (10) on the ground as well.
Pittsburgh Steelers
No other defender has inflicted as much pain and misery on quarterbacks as the relentless T.J. Watt. His four sacks and four quarterback hits give him a league-leading eight quarterback takedowns.
San Francisco 49ers
No team has a higher pass-rushing grade than the 88.4 the 49ers have managed. The two biggest inspirations here are Nick Bosa (91.4) and Javon Hargrave (85.7), as the two have picked up 17 total pressures.
Seattle Seahawks
Only Quincy Williams has made as many defensive stops as Bobby Wagner (13) has managed through two games.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The winner of the weekly award for most yards per route run is Mike Evans in Week 2. He scored a 6.11 figure after turning his 28 receiving snaps into 171 yards.
Tennessee Titans
After a tough Week 1, Ryan Tannehill was much improved in Week 2. He recorded the highest adjusted completion percentage of all quarterbacks with 95.7%, as well as the highest passing grade (93.0).
Washington Commanders
Cornerback Benjamin St-Juste has the lowest yards allowed per snap in slot coverage of all cornerbacks who have spent at least 20 snaps in the slot (0.14).
