The San Francisco 49ers began their 30-10 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars with a 20-play, 13-minute drive and didn’t look back.
The 49ers have now put together two straight dominant showings as they chase one of the Wild Card spots up for grabs in the NFC.

San Francisco 49ers
Quarterback
Jimmy Garoppolo wasn’t asked to do much while playing from a positive game script all day, but he played his role well. Garoppolo completed six of 10 passes for 92 yards and two touchdowns on throws past the first down markers while producing an 80% adjusted completion percentage in the game.
Running Back
Jeff Wilson Jr. operated as the clear lead back in Kyle Shanahan’s offense, but he wasn’t able to get much going on the ground. Wilson averaged fewer than 3.0 yards per carry, and 49 of his 52 rushing yards in the game came after contact.
Trey Sermon totaled 53 yards on 10 touches, including a 23-yard reception on his lone target.
Wide Receivers/Tight Ends
This was the best game in a disappointing season for second-year wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk. He caught all seven of his targets, two of which were contested, for 85 yards and a touchdown.
Deebo Samuel ended up doing most of his damage on the ground. Samuel caught just one pass for 15 yards, but he led all rushers with 79 rushing yards on eight carries. That marks the most carries and is tied for the most rushing yards for any wide receiver in a game this season.
Most rushing yards by a WR in a single game | 2021
Player | Week | Rushing yards |
Deebo Samuel | Week 11 vs. JAX | 79 |
Jamal Agnew | Week 10 vs. IND | 79 |
Kendrick Bourne | Week 10 vs. CLE | 43 |
Offensive Line
San Francisco’s offensive line held up well in pass protection. Garoppolo was pressured on just five of his 25 dropbacks in the game, which included a clean sheet in pass protection from PFF’s highest-graded tackle entering the week (Trent Williams), pending review.
Jaylon Moore and Tom Compton both saw playing time at right tackle in place of the injured Mike McGlinchey.
Defensive Line
Unsurprisingly, Nick Bosa led the way for San Francisco's pass rush with six pressures. Arden Key also had several wins as a pass rusher in his limited reps and is likely to earn his highest single-game pass-rushing grade of the season.
Linebackers
Fred Warner led the way statistically with five plays as the first contact defender and six total tackles. Azeez Al-Shaiir had a positive contribution in the passing game with a quarterback pressure and just one reception allowed into his coverage for 6 yards.
Secondary
No 49ers defensive back allowed more than 30 yards into his coverage through a combination of Jacksonville’s inept passing attack and strong play from San Francisco’s secondary. Josh Norman allowed just one reception for 15 yards while forcing an incompletion.
Jacksonville Jaguars
Quarterback
Trevor Lawrence and Jacksonville’s passing offense put up nearly as much production in the fourth quarter when the game was out of hand as they did the first three quarters combined.
Quarters | Passing yards | Dropped passes |
Quarters 1-3 | 85 | 0 |
Quarter 4 | 73 | 2 |
Lawrence is in line for just his third game of the season without a turnover-worthy play, pending review. However, he also produced no big-time throws.
Running Back
James Robinson wasn’t able to get anything going on the ground against San Francisco’s defensive front. Twenty-five of his 29 rushing yards came after contact, and he wasn’t credited with a missed tackle forced on 12 carries per PFF’s first-run analysis.
Wide Receivers/Tight Ends
Laviska Shenault Jr. caught all five of his targets for 50 yards (45 of which came after the catch), but no other Jaguars wide receiver or tight end topped 20 receiving yards until the game was out of hand in the fourth quarter.
The position continues to be a problem area for Jacksonville in Lawrence’s first season.
Offensive Line
Jawaan Taylor was charged with four pressures allowed and four additional losses. Ben Bartch also had a rough game next to Taylor at right guard in pass protection.
It was a tough outing for most of Jacksonville’s offensive line in the run game as well.
Defensive Line
Roy Robertson-Harris was the only Jacksonville defensive lineman with multiple pressures in this game. Josh Allen did have an impressive performance against the run, though. He ended the game with multiple run stops and 10 total tackles against the run.
Linebackers
Damien Wilson outplayed Myles Jack in the Jaguars starting linebacker tandem. Wilson came away from the game with a sack, two tackles for loss or no gain against the run and allowed just 13 passing yards into his coverage.
Secondary
The only forced incompletion in Jacksonville’s secondary came from Tyson Campbell, but they weren’t beaten for many big plays. Shaquill Griffin led the unit with 34 yards allowed into his coverage prior to leaving the game with a concussion.
