Game summary
According to our new noise-canceled score metric, this game was closer than it should have been, as the Chiefs scored just one touchdown from four red zone opportunities. The Chiefs were especially dominant on offense in the first half and should have probably decided the game at halftime.
Passing summary
This was the first time the Broncos passing offense has been completely shut down this season. Outside of Russell Wilson’s occasional scrambling, the Chiefs defense was ready to stop everything they threw at them.
Receiving summary
The passing offense just wasn't working, so it’s not surprising to see that none of the starters or regular role players were able to eclipse 2.0 yards per route run.
Travis Kelce was his usual dominant self — it was as if his ankle injury last Sunday never happened. Nevertheless, their wide receiver room still has a lot of room for growth, as Rashee Rice was the only successful pass-catcher next to Kelce.
Rushing summary
If you search for a reason for concern on the Chiefs’ side, it’s that they couldn’t efficiently run the ball despite the light boxes defenses usually show when they play Patrick Mahomes. On the other side of the ball, the ground attack was the only positive for a disappointing Broncos offense.
