  • The Cinncinnati Bengals have placed linebacker Kevin Minter on injured reserve, according to ESPN’s Adam Caplan. Minter suffered a hamstring injury during his team’s Week 14 loss against the Chicago Bears, and he will now miss the final three games of the season.
  • Minter, who signed a one-year deal with the team during free agency, has struggled with injuries for most of the year and through 14 weeks, he managed to play just 196 snaps. Overall, he struggled to find consistency in his limited action and earned a PFF overall grade of just 40.8.
  • However, Minter did find some success against the run this year. In his nine games with the team, he logged a total of 116 run defense snaps and produced 13 stops for a run stop percentage 11.2, a mark that currently ranks third among the 51 inside linebackers with at least 100 snaps against the run.
  • In his absence, veteran middle linebacker Vincent Rey will likely see an increased workload. Rey has played 439 snaps so far this year, and has also been effective against the run. Through 14 weeks, he’s accounted for 16 stops on 205 run defense snaps, for a run stop percentage of 7.8 percent that ranks 35th among the same 51 players.
