- The Seattle Seahawks listed cornerback Richard Sherman as ‘questionable’ for their Week 1 game against the Green Bay Packers, but Head Coach Pete Carroll told reporters that he’s “ready to go,” according to Greg Bell of the News Tribune. Sherman practiced in full on Thursday, but sat out Friday due to a thigh issue.
- In his six years in the league, Sherman has been stellar in coverage. Among the 140 corners that have played at least 750 coverage snaps over the last six seasons, Sherman’s allowed average of 0.88 yards per cover snap ranks second and his 50.0 passer rating allowed ranks first.
- Sherman has been especially effective in previous matches against the Packers. Sherman has faced the Packers five times over the last six seasons, but only been targeted 10 times, allowing a passer rating of 51.7 on throws into his coverage and an average of just 0.40 yards per coverage snap.
