- Following Dez Bryant’s attempt to recruit free-agent Darrelle Revis, the Cowboys are said to have no interest in signing the former pro-bowl cornerback to a deal.
- For most of Revis’ 10-year career he was considered one of the best corners in the game. A seven-time pro bowler and a four time first team all pro, he has earned grades over 85.0 on seven of his ten seasons, including his career best of 97.6 in 2009, when he allowed passer rating of just 32.3, the lowest mark in the league that year. He routinely allowed less than a yard per cover snap, until he re-signed with the Jets in 2015.
- In 2016, his play dramatically declined, and was released by the Jets this off season. He finished the season with an overall grade of 72.1, the worst grade of his career. He allowed 1.28 yards per cover snap, the most outside of his rookie year, and he allowed a passer rating of 104.2, ranking 68th of 81 corners with at least 570 snaps.
- The Cowboys are expected to start Orlando Scandrick, (who allowed just two touchdowns all season) and second round draft pick Chidobe Awuzie at corner (who Led all cornerbacks in 2015 with 41 tackles resulting in a defensive stop).
