PFF Staff Best Bets in the Monday-night NFC battle to close Week 2, Minnesota Vikings and Philadelphia Eagles:
Eric Eager: Eagles -2.5 (-110 BetMGM)
• The Vikings got off to a great start Sunday against the Packers in Kevin O’Connell’s first game as head coach. However, this week, the Eagles will likely be able to test a poor Vikings secondary with A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith in ways the Packers could not, which could make for a long day catching up by Kirk Cousins and Co. Don't play this to -3 if it gets there, as Justin Jefferson o7.5 catches at plus money is the better play.
Ben Brown: Kirk Cousins O 4.5 rush yards (-125 BetMGM)
• Cousins was quiet from a rushing perspective in Week 1, as receivers were running so wide open in the Packers secondary that it was simply pitch-and-catch in Kevin O'Connell's new scheme. Things could be a litlte more difficult on Monday night facing off against one of the best front fours in all of football. Philadelphia has the fifth-best opponent-adjusted pass-rush grade and should force Cousins into a couple uncomfortable situations. If he can break contain on one of those plays, then this rushing yardage prop number should fall quickly.
Nathan Jahnke: Alexander Mattison O 5.5 rec. yards (-115 BetMGM)
• The Vikings' interior O-line had a combined 43.5 pass-block grade over the past two seasons, the third-lowest rate in the league. Meantime, the Eagles' interior defenders have an 84.9 pass-rush grade over the past two seasons, the third-highest rate. Mattison’s target share stays consistent when the Vikings are under pressure —while the rest of the Vikings see a decrease in target share — and he sees a significantly higher target share against zone defenses like the Eagles compared to man.
